In the current world, it’s almost impossible to imagine that someone can live without computers. Computers are used in almost every sector of everyday life. Moreover, there is radical change in Indian corporate Sector and consumer expectations today. Business organizations have to keep adopting themselves to these rapid changes. To manage such business, Universities are required to produce future managers & IT professionals who can think logically, take decisions & be able to work in any cultural environment. In order to meet these requirements, Department of Computer Applications at Narayanaguru College of Engineering, not only gives the students in depth knowledge of the state of the art but also inculcated in them a proficiency to apply this knowledge in solving real life problems to become highly skilled and effective Managers & IT professional. It gives me immense pleasure to lead the Department of Computer Applications. The aim of our department is to inspire and motivate students and thus enabling them to achieve potential for personal and professional growth. We have award winning curriculum, excellent group of faculty involved teaching to provide students a top-rated education. We have highly vigilant Training and Placement Cell that works diligently towards providing the best platform to the aspirants. PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs):
PEO 1 To prepare students to pursue lifelong learning and do research in computing field by providing solid technical foundations.
PEO 2 To provide students with various computing skills like analysis, design and development of innovative software products to meet the industry needs and excel as software professionals.
PEO 3 To prepare students to communicate and function effectively in teams in multidisciplinary fields within the global, societal and environmental context
PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)
On successful completion of the program:
POS 1. Computational knowledge: Apply knowledge of computing fundamentals, computing specialization, mathematics, and domain knowledge appropriate for the computing specialization to the solution of complex problems.
POS 2. Problem analysis: Identity, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex computing problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, computing sciences, and relevant domain disciplines.
POS 3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex computing problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
POS 4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
POS 5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern computing and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex computing systems with an understanding of the limitations
POS 6. Research Aptitude: Ability to independently carry out research / investigations, identify problems and develop solutions to solve practical problems.
POS 7. Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Identify a timely opportunity and using innovation
to pursue that opportunity to create value and wealth for the betterment of the individual and society at large.
POS 8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities
and norms of the professional computing practice.
POS 9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or

PSO 1: Able to select suitable data model, appropriate architecture, platform to implement a
system with good performance.
PSO 2: Able to design and integrate various system based components to provide user
interactive solutions for various challenges.
Facilities
- Department Library
In a large space, the Department Library books 269 with 92 titles. The books explore all aspects of computer science, as well as new technologies. The library system is very user friendly with sufficient resources to meet the requirements of the users. Addition of resources as per the requirements and norms is a regular feature. Sufficient numbers of qualified staff are employed to manage the activities of the library.
- Software Development Lab
To develop simple software’s and web pages using C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, Visual C++, Oracle, HTML, Java, Java Script, J2EE, ASP and JSP
- Multimedia & Operating System Lab
To perform image editing operations, sound editing operations, 2D/3D animations using Photoshop Tool, sound forge software and flash tools
- Oracle Lab
To create and interact with the database. The Application software includes Oracle 10-G which works under Windows and Oracle Express on Linux.
- CTS Open Source Lab
To create and interact with the database. The Application software includes Oracle 10-G which works under Windows and Oracle Express on Linux.
- Industrial Visit
Industrial visit has its own importance in a career of a student who is pursuing a professional degree. It helped the students to gain first hand information regarding functioning of the IT industry and provided them opportunities to engage in active learning both inside and outside the classroom. The students visited more MNC companies which is one of the most reputed groups for the technological development and research. For strong relations with IT industry, the company offers solutions in the different sectors as:
