Infrastructure

  • Department Library

The department library consisting of nearly 500 books covering a wide range of subjects in Mechanical, Automobile, Electrical and Electronics, Management and Basic Sciences. The library also keeps all the previous students’ project reports in hardcopy and softcopy format. The library has several Journals that include IEEE, Springer, ASCE, ASME, McGraw Hill, J-Gate, Elsevier, ASTM Digital Library (Online Version) and IJVSS in collaboration with the central library. The books can also be borrowed from premier institute libraries like IITs, IISc and NITs through DELNET service. The following magazines Vehicle Dynamics International, Industrial Vehicle Technology, Professional Motorsports World, Mobility Engineering, Lift Truck Technology, Ricardo, MOTORINDIA, WHATCAR, AUTOINDIA and MODERN MACHINE TOOLS are available for the benefit of students. For the love of visual perception, videos of the latest cars and bikes are available in the department library.

  • Automotive Components Laboratory

This lab comprises of different Vehicle segments and it aims to prepare the Students to know the features of various Automotive segments, dismantling and assembling them.

  • AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS LABORATORY

The main aim of this lab is to introduce all the testing procedures for electrical and electronics system in an automobile. As a result of this the students will be able to rectify the faults in the Electrical and Electronics systems and maintain the same.

  • AUTOMOTIVE FUELS AND LUBRICANTS LABORATORY

The primary objective of this laboratory is to determine properties of several fuels and lubricants, compare them with standards to get an idea about its quality. This lab will supplement theoretical inputs in the basic sciences and engineering courses. Also Students are expected to understand the manufacturing and working of fuels and lubricants when used in an IC Engine.

  • COMPUTER-AIDED ENGINE AND CHASSIS DESIGN LABORATORY

This lab aims to familiarize the students to use distinctive modeling softwares to model the engine components and chassis design.

  • TWO AND THREE WHEELERS LABORATORY

The goal of this lab is to train the students to assemble the components of two and three wheelers and to conduct performance test of the vehicle.

  • ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND EMISSION TESTING LABORATORY

This lab enables the students to develop the Practical knowledge in the field of Automobile engineering. It also imparts the fundamental knowledge on the different types of dynamometers used for performance testing and to calculate and Analyse the various parameters that define the performance of an engine.

  • VEHICLE MAINTENANCE LABORATORY

This lab is aimed to impart the ability of identifying the faults in an automobile and rectifying it. This lab also provides complete knowledge about servicing of an Automobile.

Association

The association regularly participates in a variety of motivational programmes to help students cultivate self-confidence and a positive mindset, as well as placement training programmes, personality growth, guest lectures to improve students’ technical skills, communication development programmes to improve speaking skills, and industrial visits to learn practical skills.

Students are encouraged to engage in co-curricular and extracurricular events, and are guided by technical quizzes, symposiums, workshops, seminars, and paper presentations by the department.

Industrial Visit

Industrial trips are an excellent way to obtain practical experience. Students will watch and see how theatrical principles are put into motion, which will help them learn more practically. Students are introduced to a real-world working environment and shown how businesses operate. All is discussed in these visits, from the management information to the goals they accomplish. Some of the companies visited by our students are,
